I have heard and read a lot about the beautiful countries in the world. However, the country I would like to visit is Great Britain. My choice is based on the following reasons. The first reason I became interested in this country was because my father worked in the UK. Another reason is my school years as English was one of the subjects studied at school. The pictures of the old buildings in textbooks have inspired me and visiting this country has become somewhat of a dream for me. Most of all I'd like to visit London and its sights. Among them, there are Westminster Abbey, the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, St. Paul's Cathedral, London Bridge, and the Tower of London. London is situated on the river Thames. I would like to visit all the famous museums in London as well, especially British Museum. I could see many historical heritages gathering from all over the world there. My best friend is Rashini. Our school is St. Mary's college Mathugama. He became my best friend since the 7th year. I think a best friend is a person who never leads us astray. I am in Manikonda. My village is located in the Kalutara district of the Western province. My village is very beautiful with natural beauty. There is a big paddy field below my house. A river flows by the paddy field. My sister and I used to fly kites in those fields. And there is a beautiful mountain range. There is a school, a temple and a divisional hospital in our village. Although I live in Colombo now, I prefer to live in my village. Our village full of greenery is like heaven to me. I love the cold wind coming from that environment.
